Emilio Sani

Emilio Sani is an Italian lawyer with over 25 years’ experience in administrative, regulatory and contractual law, specialising in the energy and environmental sectors. He has advised utilities, investment funds, industrial companies and developers on the structuring and development of renewable energy projects, supporting the construction of over 2,000 MW of capacity. He has contributed to shaping Italy’s regulatory framework for self-consumption and energy communities and is recognised for his work in energy contracts, project finance, and administrative litigation. Emilio is founding partner at Sani Zangrando Studio Legale Associato and sits on the board of Italia Solare.

Maria Cristina Gibelli is an Italian lawyer who qualified in 2020 and enrolled into the Milan Bar in 2021. She specialises in energy, natural resources and administrative law. She advises companies in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors on permitting procedures, regulatory compliance, environmental approvals, incentive schemes, contractual matters, financing. She has also been involved in research activities at regional level (Lombardy Region), specialising in urban regeneration and sustainable development. She has been collaborating with Emilio Sani since 2021.

Anna Castelli is an Italian lawyer who was admitted to the Milan Bar in 2018. She specialises in energy, natural resources and administrative law. She advises companies in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors on permitting procedures, regulatory compliance, environmental approvals and incentive schemes. She has represented clients before the national energy authority, GSE, and regional administrative courts, and has assisted with the acquisition and development of renewable energy projects, including public tenders and public–private partnerships. Anna is also experienced in contractual matters relating to the sale of energy and self-consumption systems.
