The Association of European Energy & Climate Lawyers (AEEC) is delighted to announce its spring conference, titled ‘Art Nouveau Energy: Redesigning the Grid for a Sustainable Future’, which will take place on 15 May 2025 in Riga, Latvia, and will be hosted by TGS Baltic.
Against the stunning backdrop of one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals, the conference will explore the evolution of Europe’s energy infrastructure to meet 21st-century demands, covering topics such as hydrogen, interconnectors, balancing markets, and the post-Russian grid landscape.
The programme features keynote speakers from ENTSO-E, FNB Gas and national grid operators, and includes panel discussions with energy experts from the Baltics and beyond.Topics include investment in transmission and distribution networks, regulatory challenges, and innovative energy technologies.
Prominent Baltic energy experts such as Zane Āboliņa (Augstsprieguma tīkls, Latvia), Alda Ozola (Public Utilities Commission, Latvia), Laura Zdanaviciene (Litgrid, Lithuania), and Karin Täär (Elering, Estonia) will play a central role in addressing the regulatory, technical, and investment challenges facing national grids. The panels will highlight the Baltic states’ forward-looking approach to energy independence, market integration, and infrastructure modernization, underlining the region’s leadership in building a sustainable and resilient energy system for the 21st century.
